As a sponsor for that particular summer season lineup, Ray Ban provided a selection of sunglasses for each group to choose from.
I had the pleasure of documenting the fact that I did indeed provide them to the artists.
After the show Joe gave me $20 and asked me to get two quarter pounders w/cheese and leave them in my car overnight so he could have them for breakfast when I picked him up in the morning to go to the airport.
Sheryl was traveling with her own dirt bikes on this tour and wanted to ride before the show so I made arrangements with the local dirt racing track nearby for her and her crew.
Autographed radio station foam core sign.
I've been to many Dead shows but sadly have never gotten to meet or work with them. I rescued this sign from the garbage pile. Can you believe they were throwing it out?!
A slightly altered copy of a pic I took of my buddy backstage with Carley Simon.
This was Carley's first live show in 15 years. I needed to find two chocolate french poodles with blue eyes, just like her's at home, to ease her nerves prior to going on.
At this show Ted grabbed me by the shirt, pulled me in close and said, "You ever kill anything with your bare hands son!?" and then proceeded to share photos of several of his latest kills with me.
I had the pleasure of working as a Production Manager for a few of BB King's Blues Festival Tour dates that also included Buddy Guy and Susan Tedeschi.
There's a knock at my office door, I open it to see Ms. Bonnie Raitt in a pink robe wearing pink slippers with pink curlers in her hair saying, in a most pleasant voice, "My dressing room seems to be flooding, can you help me?"
While helping with the water situation I said, "Ms. Raitt, I noticed your husband is here, do you think he would sign one of my golf clubs?" After laughing out loud she noted, "Ya know no one ever asked me that before. They usually ask for my autograph." (Her husband at the time was Michael O'Keefe, who played the caddy in Caddyshack. He graciously signed a five wood for me.
I was booked for this gig but Roger walked off stage during rehearsal the day before, cancelling the show.
The Textured Whinos had the great honor to be one of the first bands to perform on the Levi's First Stage.
Deep Purple in the sunglasses they selected, along with venue representatives from the Rochester Broadway Theatre League and Magic City Productions.
Hi energy and fun as hell!
Don't pass up an opportunity to see them.
Epic show to be a part of!
EPIC!!
A co-worker knew I would never have the nerve to ask Susan Tedeschi to sign this miniature guitar I had as decoration on my desk, so she asked for me.
Glad she did.
Susan was awesome to work with over the course of several shows in several years.
